Oodua Integrity Group Commends Bola Ahmed Tinubu on APC Primary Reforms, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Internal Sabotage
The Oodua Integrity Group has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promoting transparency and fairness during the APC primaries, while also raising concerns over alleged manipulation within the party leadership.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Adeniyi Fatai, Head of Investigation for the Oodua Integrity Group, alleged that some emissaries linked to the APC National Secretary acted contrary to party ethics by favouring only aspirants with whom they allegedly had personal arrangements.
Quoting the Yoruba proverb, “Kokoro to n je efo, inu efo lo wa,” meaning “the insect eating the vegetable lives inside the vegetable,” Fatai said the situation reflects internal sabotage within the party structure.
The group praised President Tinubu for reportedly giving clear directives that transparency, fairness, and due process must guide the conduct of the primaries. However, it also expressed concern over what it described as the alleged sabotage of the Progressive Institute of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the group, despite President Tinubu’s earlier concerns about the smooth takeoff of the institute, its funding and effective operations are allegedly being undermined from within the office of the APC National Secretary.
The Oodua Integrity Group further claimed that it had previously submitted several petitions alleging links between the APC National Secretary and a prominent opposition figure in Osun State, but said no action had been taken on the matter.
The group warned that failure to address the grievances of aspirants who allegedly felt shortchanged during the primaries could create dissatisfaction within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. It cautioned that unresolved internal disputes may push some aggrieved members toward anti-party activities.
The group therefore appealed to President Tinubu to thoroughly investigate the allegations and take decisive action in the interest of party unity and stability ahead of the 2027 elections.
