Eagles, Zanzibar Draw Again in CHAN Warm-Up

Nigeria’s Home Eagles were held to a 2-2 draw by Zanzibar in a pre-2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) friendly at the Mau Stadium on Thursday.

Top scorer from last season’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Anas Yusuf, opened the scoring for Nigeria, before Adedayo Olamilekan of Remo Stars doubled the lead for the Home Eagles.

However, Zanzibar fought back in the second half, scoring twice to secure a share of the spoils.

It is worth noting that both sides had previously played out a goalless draw at the same venue on Monday.

The Home Eagles will now turn their attention to the CHAN 2024 finals, which kick off this weekend. Nigeria’s first match is scheduled for next Tuesday against defending champions Senegal at the 15,000-capacity Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
