D’Tigress Open AfroBasket 2025 Camp in Abuja
Tigress fourteen players and head coach Rena Wakama have arrived in Abuja as Nigeria’s D’Tigress officially to begin preparations for the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket, set to take place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast from 25 July to 3 August.
The early arrivals include key returnees Amy Okonkwo, Nicole Enabosi, Ezinne Kalu, and Elizabeth Balogun, all of whom played pivotal roles in Nigeria’s recent continental successes.
Before departing for Abidjan, the reigning African champions will feature in a homecoming tournament in Abuja. The event will serve as both a final tune-up for the squad and a celebration of their dominance on the continent.
The Nigerian team seeking to extend their reign as champions, will also aim to secure one of the four available spots at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup qualifying tournaments.
