FG DECLARES TUESDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY TO HONOUR FORMER LATE PRESIDENT BUHARI

The federal Government has declared Tuesday 15th of July 2025 as a public holiday in honour of late former president Muhammadu Buhari. This follows the seven-day mourning period announced by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The announcement was made by the minister of interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who said the holiday is a mark of respect for the late president Buhari’s legacy and service to Nigeria. He noted that the day should be used to reflect on his life values, and dedication to national unity and development.

Nigerians are urged to promote peace, patriotism, and cohesion in memory of the late statesman. Meanwhile, National Flags will continue to fly at half-mast throughout the mourning period
