NIGERIA ARMY LOCAL HUNTERS RESCUES 17 ABDUCTED PASSENGERS ALONG LOKOJA OBAJANA ROAD

The Kogi State Government has commended the security operatives the Nigerian Army and the local hunters in the state for rescuing 17 abducted passengers along Lokoja Obajana road on Wednesday .

According to a press release by Kingsley Femi Fanwo Commissioner for Information and Communications Kogi State, he said with deep concern reports of security breaches at two flashpoints in the State including an attack on security personnel in Yagba West Local Government Area, which tragically led to the loss of some gallant police officers, and a kidnapping incident along the Lokoja-Obajana road.

He stated that Kogi State Government is however relieved to announce that the kidnapped bus passengers was successfully rescued by the prompt intervention of the Army and Local Hunters who went after the kidnappers to ensure the 17 abducted passengers were rescued

Fanwo said , the swift response is highly commendable as this further demonstrates the capacity and resolve of the security operatives to protect lives and property as rescued passengers have been taken to a medical facilities for examination and care.

The Commissioner for Information and Communications Kogi State Femi Fanwo said Kogi state Government is in solidarity with the people in the affected areas and extends heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their courage will continue to inspire the fight against criminality in the State.

The Government of Kogi State calls on security agencies to intensify investigations to ensure that the perpetrators of these heinous crimes are arrested and brought to justice without delay. We equally urge citizens to continue to cooperate with security operatives by providing timely and useful information that will aid the fight against crime.

His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed the determination of his administration to turn the tide against crime and guarantee the safety of lives and property across the State. Already, the deployment of personnel and security equipment to strategic locations is ongoing to forestall further breaches and to restore calm.

He however assure the people of Kogi State that the state Government will never submit to acts of terror and together with the support of the people and the resilience of our security agencies, we will overcome those who seek to disrupt the peace of our land.
