President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed Adeolu Olukayode Egbetokun as Inspector-General of Police.

Sources within the Presidency and senior officials of the Police Service Commission confirmed on Tuesday that Egbetokun was directed to prepare his handover notes following a visit to the Presidential Villa.

He is expected to formally hand over to Tunji Disu, who until now has been serving as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.

A senior police source disclosed that Egbetokun was informed of the decision during a meeting at the Villa.

“He was told to go and prepare his handover notes, though there was no official statement from the Presidency or the Police Service Commission as of the time of filing this report but speculations had it that Adeolu olukayode Egbetokun wil handover to the incoming Tunji Disu in mo distant time..
