PRESIDENT TINUBU HAILS SUPER FALCONS ’ HISTORIC 10th WAFCON TITLE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons on securing their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, after a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over hosts Morocco in Saturday’s final in Rabat.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded the Falcons for their outstanding performance and unyielding resilience.

He noted that overturning a two-goal deficit against a spirited Moroccan side, buoyed by a passionate home crowd, epitomised the grit and determination that define the Nigerian spirit.

The President added that through hard work, dedication, and tenacity, the Super Falcons fulfilled the aspirations of millions of Nigerians who had hoped and prayed for their success.

Nigeria remain the only African nation to have won the WAFCON title a double-digit ten times, further cementing their dominance on the continent.
