FCT Police Records Major Crack down on Crime arrest 160 from October to December 2025

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has outlined significant security achievements recorded by the Command between October and December 2025.

Speaking during a press briefing in Abuja, CP Dantawaye said the successes recorded were achieved in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun.

He explained that the Command adopted a multi-layered strategy anchored on strengthened community policing, sustained intelligence-led operations, targeted clearance exercises, enhanced visibility policing, public enlightenment, and strategic communication.

According to the Fct Commissioner of Police Dantawaye, he said , the Command has recorded notable operational breakthroughs across several crime fronts, particularly in anti-kidnapping operations, armed robbery suppression, arrest of violent offenders, rescue of victims, and recovery of arms, ammunition, vehicles, cash, and other criminal exhibits.

He disclosed that a total of 300 cases were reported during the period under review, leading to the arrest of 160 suspects across various categories of crime. Seven kidnapping cases were recorded with 41 suspects arrested, while 62 armed robbery cases led to the arrest of 38 suspects. Additional arrests were made in cases of homicide, cultism, drug-related offences, illegal possession of firearms, cyber-related fraud, and other violent crimes, accounting for 120 suspects.

CP Dantawaye further confirmed that the Command successfully rescued 24 kidnapping victims, including women and children. He added that 96 suspects have been charged to court, resulting in 60 convictions, while other cases are at various stages of prosecution. On recoveries, the Commissioner listed 21 AK-47 rifles, 10 shotguns, one K2 rifle, 37 locally made pistols, 31 locally fabricated firearms, and a total sum of ₦15,450,000 cash, among other exhibits.

Reassuring residents of the FCT, CP Dantawaye said the Command will continue to intensify community policing engagements, deepen intelligence-led strategies, sustain targeted clearance operations, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and expand public enlightenment initiatives to address evolving security challenges. He also paid tribute to six police officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty, noting that their sacrifice would not be forgotten.
