Oodua Integrity Group Urge IGP Not To Transfer Urum Anambra Arson Case To Force Homicide Section In Abuja.
Oodua Integrity Grouphas urged the Inspector Generl of police IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu not to transfer case of arson in Urum Anambra state to force homicide section Abuja
The Oodua integrity group has called on the inspector general of Police Tunji Disu to reverse the attempted transfer of case file of case of arson in Urum in Awka local government of Anambra stare to the force homicide section Abuja.
Adeniyi Fatai, head of investigation of the group stated that at a time President Tinubu is prioritizing state Police of which the inspector general of Police chaired it steering committee,it will be detrimental if the power of investigation by the Anambra state Police command criminal investigation department is subdued for selfish interest.
It could be recalled that one Emeka Ebenezer Mokwogwu was charged with criminal conspiracy and Arson.
The arson took place in Urum in Awka local government area of Anambra state from the 24 and 25 of march 2026 where a house was burnt and the principal perpetrator was PG Felix.Events However changed when a letter emanated from the homicide section of the Force headquarters signed by a commissioner of Police requesting for the transfer of the case from the Anambra state Police command homicide section. The Oodua integrity group wants the case to be concluded by the state police.
The IGP at inception promised to end impunity,as such, the state cid has been fair and effective. We therefore appeal to Tunji Disu to wade into the matter and let the case be concluded in Anambra state. So far,the complainants have confidence in the state criminal investigation department and feel they have the capacity. We suspect foul play by the sudden call for the transfer of the case.
